Cold-Weather Pruning

Cold-Weather Pruning

This is the first time I have ever pruned a vineyard so pruning began this year with some instruction from my father-in-law, Bill Secor and my brother-in-law, viticulturalist Rob Secor.

We work on indoor projects and wait for the temperature to get above 20° and the wind to be calm so we can work outside for more than 20 minutes at a time. We ordered surplus Swedish military mittens to keep our hands warm. Now we just need to figure out something ingenious for our feet.
